Los Angeles, CA (October 10, 2012) ? Construction was well underway at Tau Resorts when, in summer of 2012, proprietors of a local ejido, a communal plot of land used for agriculture, lodged a formal complaint against the project. The four-lane, 250 million dollar highway directly intersected with the high-value farmland, and even with the proper permits, the highway?s construction was put on hold. The dispute, though debilitating to the economical progress of the region, also played a substantial role in slowing the construction of Tau Resorts, a developing neighboring property that had promised shareholders and condominium owners a grand opening during the summer of 2012.
The highway was to serve as a vital passage for the transport of construction machinery and personnel, lumber, concrete and other building supplies for the resorts many tiers of luxury vacation accommodations. The ocean-side resort?s construction progress was heavily influenced by the land dispute and construction slowed substantially.
However, as of September, the state government of Nayarit mandated that the highway is to be completed as planned, despite objections by local growers. Construction crews have returned to the project and highway is expected to be completed without further objection.
Tau Resorts, one of the many entities suffering because of the disagreement, has had no choice but to push back the opening date of their resort while trying its best to keep its customers at ease. Tau Resorts has placated its expectant members by offering week-long, free stays anywhere in the world that their timeshare property partners do business. With over two thousand locations worldwide in over 200 countries, the vast majority of Tau owners and customers were sufficiently appeased by this response.
Tau Resorts itself is slated to officially open in the winter of 2012.
The highway itself will improve accessibility to the entire Bay of Banderas area, a region highly sought after as a tourist destination. The seven kilometer stretch near Tau Resorts is poised to lend a huge boost to the struggling economy of the region and will be a popular avenue for the transportation of tourists, travelers and others affiliated with the tourism industry in the area.
