Photo of smiling Muamba posted on his Twitter feed

Associated Press Sports

updated 9:57 a.m. ET March 30, 2012

LONDON (AP) - A new photo of Fabrice Muamba has appeared on the midfielder's Twitter account showing him sitting up and smiling, almost two weeks after his heart stopped beating and he collapsed during an FA Cup match.

The first photo of Muamba since his cardiac arrest shows a bearded Muamba dressed and seated with a pillow for support. An accompanying message says "Fab wanted me to post this pic for you all and to also say thank you for such overwhelming support."

The former England under-21 international has been in the London Chest Hospital since collapsing on March 17 in the game against Tottenham. Doctors worked on Muamba for 78 minutes to get his heart beating on its own.

He was talking to doctors two days after his collapse and began eating again this week.

House of Stone: A Memoir of Home, Family, and a Lost Middle East ...

?The whispers of Isber?s age were everywhere in Marjayoun. They spoke of a time in which I never lived but had envisioned so often that, to me, it was almost more familiar than the present. It was the era whose fragments and civilities ? the remnants of the Ottomans and the Levant ? had originally drawn me to the Middle East.?

Much about House of Stone: A Memoir of Home, Family, and a Lost Middle East by Anthony Shadid is revealed in this passage from page 133. Isber was Shadid?s great grandfather, a man who after 1900 built a stately house on a hill to claim his membership in the society of Marjayoun, a vibrant town of Christian and Muslim merchants in Southern Lebanon. The wealth and tolerance of the community soon disappeared in the upheaval following the dismantling of the Ottoman empire after World War I. Isber sent his children to the United States and Brazil to escape violence and died prematurely. His widow lived in the house until the 1960s after which it began to crumble. It was occupied by an Israeli agent during the 1982 war and was struck by a small missile. Shadid, who grew up in a Lebanese community in Oklahoma, took a year off to rebuild the house, hoping to rebuild his family as well.

In House of Stone, Shadid retells stories from his family while describing the slow restoration of Isber?s house and gardens. Throughout there are strained relations with his foreman and various craftsmen who have a very different sense of time than Shadid. He also visits relatives and prominent citizens of the community. My favorite is Dr. Khairalla, a wise retired hospital administrator who gives Shadid cuttings for his garden. The doctor was convicted of treason (but never sentenced) for having dealt with the Israelis during the occupation, something he had to do to keep the hospital open.

Shadid was a winner of two Pulitzer Prizes for Journalism and is nominated again this year for his coverage of events in Syria. In February, he died during an asthma attack while clandestinely crossing the Syrian border from having interviewed Syrian rebels. His book was published in March. Like his great grandfather, his stay in the house was short.

How to use multitasking gesture navigation shortcuts on the new iPad

Multitasking gestures are quick, multitouch shortcuts for navigating around your iPad. You can enable or disable them in Settings (to avoid, for example, swiping in Fruit Ninja and suddenly ending up in Mail). When they're on, however, and you're used to using them, you can really fly between your iPad apps.

Video shows Zimmerman shortly after Martin shooting

Does surveillance video of George Zimmerman in police custody on the night of Trayvon Martin's death contradict claims that he was beaten and bloodied during an altercation with the Florida teen? NBC's Ron Allen reports.

By msnbc.com staff

Updated at 7:09 a.m. ET: Surveillance video footage of George Zimmerman being led from a police car shortly after he fatally shot teenager Trayvon Martin does not appear to show any obvious signs of injuries or bloodstains, but his attorney says the video is too grainy to be revealing.

The footage, obtained by ABC News?on Wednesday, shows a handcuffed Zimmerman getting out of the police car unaided and walking into the police station where he was taken after the shooting in Sanford, Fla.

It was taken about four hours after the deadly incident.?

In the video, there are no readily visible signs of injuries to Zimmerman's head or blood on his clothes. However,?he is wearing a red jacket, which could obscure blood stains. Also, at one point, an officer pauses to look at the back of Zimmerman's head, which he claims was injured by Martin.

Appearing on NBC's TODAY on Thursday, Zimmerman's attorney Craig Sonner described the video as "very grainy." He also pointed out that Zimmerman had been "cleaned-up" and received first aid in the four hours between the incident and Zimmerman's videotaped arrival at the police station.

Sonner has previously said that his client suffered a broken nose and a gash to his head during the altercation.

George Zimmerman's attorney, Craig Sonner, tells TODAY's Matt Lauer that a video of George Zimmerman taken after the killing of Trayvon Martin is too grainy to show whether he had any blood or bruises on his face.

?

Neighborhood watch volunteer Zimmerman, 28, who was released without charge,?claims he shot dead?the 17-year-old Martin on Feb. 26 in self-defense after the teen attacked him.

Eugene O'Donnell, of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, said the video shows "that it's beyond dispute that there are no serious injuries, physical injuries, he's not in a hospital."

"There's no bruising that's observable," O'Donnell told MSNBC TV's?The Last Word.?However, he added that "it's possible that there are injuries that are not seen in the video."

Richard Kurtz, the funeral director who?prepared Martin's body, was asked if there were any signs on his hands that he had punched someone.

"The only thing that I was able to see was the gunshot wound," Kurtz told The Last Word. "I could not see evidence like he had been punching somebody as the news media say he was punching ... It just did not add up to me."

The death of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin by volunteer neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman has ignited a national conversation about prejudice, justice and the treatment of young African-American men. NBC News anchors, correspondents and contributors discuss the feelings that Trayvon's death sparked and relate their experiences covering the story.

Health-care reform: Main issue after 2 years is, will it survive?

Health-care reform law is extolled by the White House for improving lives and is the object of scorn from the GOP. But the looming Supreme Court battle overshadows the partisan debate.

Two years to the day after President Obama signed it into law, the Affordable Care Act remains very much a work in progress.

The White House says its health-care reforms have improved the lives of millions, though the legislation?s most important provisions have yet to take effect. Detractors ? a category that includes every GOP presidential hopeful ? scorn Mr. Obama?s health reforms as Treasury-busting infringements on American freedoms.

Yet the most important question dealing with the ACA may be not how it?s doing, but whether it will survive. Next week the Supreme Court hears oral arguments on the constitutionality of the law?s lynchpin requirement that individuals carry health insurance.

?What?s at stake basically is whether or not the signature domestic achievement of the Obama administration is sustained,? says Russell Wheeler, a visiting fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution, in an online interview on the Affordable Care Act?s future.

Obama himself did not make a big live appearance promoting the ACA?s birthday. That could be in deference to the upcoming Supreme Court arguments, or it could be a reflection of the fact that polls show US voters remain split on whether the law?s passage was a good thing.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Thursday it is ?absurd? to think that Obama is distancing himself from the health law. Carney noted that Obama?s campaign has produced a video featuring Americans who have benefited from the ACA.

And the White House itself on Friday issued a report highlighting what it called the progress produced by the legislation.

Among its assertions: 2.5 million more young adults have health insurance, thanks to an ACA requirement that they continue to be covered on parental policies; 5.1 million Medicare recipients have saved $3.1 billion on prescription drugs because of increased ACA coverage limits; and insurance firms can no longer drop policy-holders who get sick if they made a mistake on their applications.

?And thanks to health reform, all Americans will have the security to know that you don?t have to worry about losing coverage if you?re laid off or change jobs, and insurance companies are required to cover your preventive care like mammograms and other cancer screenings,? concludes the White House report.

Meanwhile, Republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney blasted the Affordable Care Act on Friday.

March 9 - The United Nations estimates at least 30,000 refugees have fled the fighting in Syria since the start of the conflict.

March 11 - Kofi Annan ends talks with Assad and leaves Syria with little sign of progress. Assad tells Annan that opposition "terrorists" are blocking any political solution.

March 12 - The United States and its European allies clash with Russia at a Security Council meeting over how to end escalating violence.

March 13 - Assad sets parliamentary elections under his country's new constitution for May 7.

-- Lavrov says Syrian forces will not stop fighting or withdraw from positions unless rebel forces mirror their move.

-- Three prominent figures resign from the opposition SNC saying they have given up on trying to make the group a more effective player in the revolt against Assad.

-- The United Nations says more than 8,000 people have been killed in Syria.

March 14 - Kofi Annan says he has received a reply from Damascus to his peace proposals but he needs clarifications.

March 15 - Activists say they are sickened by emails which appear to show Assad and his wife shopping for luxury items while the country descends into bloodshed, a day after Britain's Guardian newspaper said it obtained some 3,000 emails from Assad and his wife, Asma.

March 17 - Two car bombs in Damascus kill 27 people and wound at least 100. The next day a car bomb strikes Syria's second city Aleppo.

March 21 - Russia and China join the rest of the U.N. Security Council in throwing its weight behind Annan to end the conflict, threatening Syria with unspecified "further steps" if it failed to comply with Annan's peace plan.

-- The Opposition say they will try to overcome crippling feuds in a meeting provisionally set for March 26 and ahead of a an April 1 Istanbul conference of the "Friends of Syria"

March 23 - The U.N. Human Rights Council condemns what it called "sharply escalating" violations by Syrian forces. However both Russia and China vote against a call by the Council to extend a probe into the violations.

-- The EU slaps sanctions on the mother, sister and influential wife of Assad.

New Seahawks QB scores with bosses, fans; Mariners hope to score big in Japan

Seahawks fans like what they're hearing about new quarterback Matt Flynn. Team leaders touted his skills and leadership ability this week.

While the Seahawks welcome an important new player, a veteran player for the Mariners is preparing for a huge homecoming in Japan.?

KPLU sports commentator Art Thiel covers both topics this week.

The real deal

Art says Seahawks general manager John Schneider can't say enough good things about Matt Flynn. He says Flynn is the real deal - despite only having played in two games last season with Green Bay.

"They really do like Flynn's command of himself and of the game.? He's a very bright guy, a very able leader. His two starts were spectacular as the backup to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. On Jan. 1 against Detroit he threw for six touchdowns and 480 yards - setting Packer passing records. And that caught everybody's eye and made him the No. 2 free agent quarterback in the market behind Peyton Manning."

Open competition?

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said this week that there will be an open competition for the starting job between Flynn and Tavaris Jackson. Art says that's not the case.

"They have to say it, and we have to disbelieve it. It's a delicate situation. You don't want to foreclose on Jackson starting because what happens if Flynn falls down the stairs? Or fails to perform? They don't want to 'dis' the guy who could be a 16-game starter for them. But we see the reality of the contract: three years for $26 million - $10 million guaranteed. And Tavaris Jackson has one year left on a $4 million deal. So, that's the reality and it's Flynn's job to lose."

Mariners in Japan

The Mariners left for Japan Thursday. They will open their season against the Oakland Athletics in Tokyo on March 28 and 29. Art will be in Japan all next week as well.

He says this isn't the first time Major League Baseball has played games in Japan. But it's the first time the Mariners have.

"The Mariners have the closest relationship with Japan than any other Major League Baseball team. It's a big deal for them to connect with this fan base that's followed Ichiro. This is his first homecoming in a Mariner uniform. There's a lot of interest in him. He's still a rock star at age 38. He's still popular. And the Mariners really do want to connect with the Japanese fan base and celebrate Ichiro's 10-year career."

You can follow Art Thiel's dispatches from Japan at Sportspress Northwest and next week on KPLU.

Small amounts of Israeli fuel reaching Gaza

(AP) ? Officials say small amounts of Israeli fuel are coming into the Gaza Strip, easing an energy crisis provoked by a cutoff of Egyptian fuel.

Brig. Gen. Nazmi Muhana, who is head of the Palestinian Authority border agency in the West Bank, and Israeli military spokesman Maj. Guy Inbar said fuel started flowing through an Israeli crossing on Friday.

Gaza health official Adham Abu Salmia says supplies are enough to power the territory's only electricity plant for a single day.

The energy crisis is rooted in a decision by Gaza's Hamas rulers to power the plant with smuggled fuel from Egypt.

They preferred to rely on smuggled fuel than pay for more expensive Israeli fuel.

But the flow of Egyptian fuel slowed weeks ago because Egypt was suffering shortages itself.

Muamba 'stable but critical' - hospital

Bolton Wanderers player Fabrice Muamba was in a stable but critical condition on Monday, two days after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a match, a statement from the hospital treating him said.

Muamba, 23, slumped onto the turf towards the end of the first half of an FA Cup quarter-final at Tottenham's White Hart Lane stadium in London on Saturday.

Millions of TV viewers saw medical staff attempting to resuscitate him as players, who were visibly shaken, looked on.

A statement issued on behalf of Bolton and the London Chest Hospital said: "Fabrice Muamba's heart condition is stable, but he remains critically ill in intensive care at The London Chest Hospital."

On Sunday night, the hospital had said Muamba was in a "critical condition".

His manager at Premier League club Bolton, Owen Coyle, spoke of the midfielder's "brave fight" after visiting Muamba at hospital on Monday.

Coyle said the player's family had been inundated with messages of support.

"They have been inundated as we all have, both in the football community globally and family and friends. People are taking a genuine interest and a real concern in how Fabrice is doing."

The plight of the player born in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo sparked a wave of support from his fellow Premier League players and football fans worldwide.

Teams led fans in a minute's applause before matches on Sunday while his former Bolton teammate, Gary Cahill, unveiled a t-shirt reading "Pray 4 Muamba" after he scored for his new club Chelsea.

Muamba's fiancee, Shauna Muamba, the mother to their three-year-old son Joshua, thanked fans on Twitter for their support.

"God is in control. Please keep afmuamba in ur prayers xx"

She later added: "Please keep praying for afmuamba its really helping I can feel it xx".

Following Muamba's on-field collapse, referee Howard Webb took the players off the field and then, with the agreement of both clubs, abandoned a tie where the score had stood at 1-1.

The incident has led Bolton to postpone their next match, a Premier League game away to Aston Villa due to take place on Tuesday.

But Bolton captain Kevin Davies said the prospect of fixture congestion was of no concern to him or his team-mates.

"Any of those questions are irrelevant at the minute," he said.

"The club will take a stance on it in the next couple of days. But at the minute we want to just try and help Fabrice."

Muamba was born in Kinshasa but came to England aged 11 to join up with his father, who had fled the country.

He started his football career as a schoolboy at Arsenal, whose manager Arsene Wenger said: "As a man, Fabrice has a positive attitude towards life, he is full of determination and has a great desire.

"When he was younger, he had massive players in front of him at Arsenal, but I felt he had reached the level to play in the Premier League, so we let him go and he has proved his quality.

"A football player always remains attached to where he was educated. Fabrice had his friends from childhood here and they remain your friends forever.

"We are all thinking of Fabrice, his family and everyone close to him."

As Muamba continued to fight for his life, experts said any recovery would depend on to what extent his brain had been starved of oxygen.

Amanda Varnava, a consultant cardiologist at St Mary's Hospital in London, called on Britain to follow Italy's example and screen all young athletes for genetic heart problems.

"The Italians have dropped the incidence by 90 percent," she told The Times. "It would be a good idea here.

"It's got to the point where 12 young people under the age of 35 (in the UK) die each week, which is an appalling tragedy."

The fact that seemingly fit young men could suffer cardiac problems while playing was brought home to the football world by the death of Cameroon's Marc-Vivien Foe during a Confederations Cup semi-final against Colombia in 2003.

And in 2004, another Bolton player, Senegal international Khalilou Fadiga, collapsed before a League Cup tie against Tottenham at the Reebok with a heart problem but subsequently recovered.

Sanjay Sharma, professor of cardiology at St George's Hospital, London, told The Times that players were screened at the age of 16 in England but that not all clubs carried out regular checks.

?Hunger Games? is an opportunity to bond for many families

Family members have been reading ?The Hunger Games? books and plan to see the movie together next week. Tales of multigenerational bonding over this harsh parable abound.

?The Hunger Games? may have fit neatly into a ?young adult? category in its early marketing, but this trilogy featuring a 16-year-old heroine from the future is at the leading edge of literature that is bringing the entire family together.

The story made the leap from page to screen because Hollywood producer Nina Jacobson ? hardly the target demographic ? fell in love with the story on her own. And the actress cast to play the young heroine, Jennifer Lawrence, was introduced to the futuristic world by her own mother.

Tales of multigenerational bonding over this parable of an oppressive, autocratic corporatocracy abound.

?What is amazing is the power of literature to reach beyond the boundaries that marketing sets up,? says Karin Westman, an English professor at Kansas State University who has taught both ?The Hunger Games? and that other successful crossover series, ?Harry Potter.? Because of broader access to information and the ability to share conversations more easily, she says, ?we are finally reaching a point where it is typical for a book to cross boundaries, rather than for it to be seen as an anomaly.?

This trilogy is particularly powerful for families to share, she says, because it relates to so many primal issues such as sibling loyalty and family survival.

Themes of family tragedy and endurance in the face of hardship are what led Maria Perez, a New Jersey public-relations executive, to bond with her 13-year-old niece, Claudia Perez, through the books. ?My niece lost her mom in December 2010,? she says via e-mail, adding, ?She loves to read, so I thought the book would offer her some catharsis, since the main character lost her father.? They plan to see the movie together when it comes out next week, she says.

The book share has worked well, says Claudia, also via e-mail.

?I like ?The Hunger Games? because it?s the perfect balance of adventure and love. The characters are ?real,? and I can relate to them,? she writes. The main character, Katniss, ?is exactly like me,? she adds. ?She?s athletic, she?s a thinker, she's independent, and she has also experienced loss.?

She says she likes reading the book with her aunt, because they can discuss and share ideas around it. ?Even though it's a serious book, we still laugh a lot. And even though we're reading the same book, we read it differently, so we have different opinions about what it means. It's more enjoyable to read it together,? she says.

Mother-daughter bonding led Boston-area marketing executive Lisa Rinkus to pick up ?The Hunger Games,? ?so I could relate to what my daughter is so excited about,? she says. She is quick to note that she and her daughter are already close, but she points out that books provide a bridge for a different kind of sharing. ?They are at a funny age where on the one hand they push you away, but then she will come to me and ask if I have finished reading the book,? she says.

The two of them have read all the various magazines about the upcoming film and plan to go together. The violence in the series concerns her, says Ms. Rinkus, but she sees the story as an opportunity to talk about important issues in the world. Her daughter, Elizabeth Rinkus, answered her mother?s text message about reading the books together.

?I think it?s a great thing that you and other parents are reading ?The Hunger Games? and are able to see what kinds of things us younger kids are so fascinated and intrigued by,? she texts. Her mother notes that this is the longest text she has ever received from her daughter, as it continues: ?It?s a brilliant piece of writing that would suit every age group and inspire the world to be creative and inventive with our writing.?

The films are uniting other sorts of family groups as well, says Santa Barbara family therapist Jen Freed. She says that the after-school program she directs will be taking a group of mentors and teens to the film when it opens. They have done this before, she notes, but says that ?The Hunger Games? is particularly powerful.

?They are not formulaic,? Ms. Freed says, ?and they deal with all kinds of important family issues, as well as larger moral and ethical questions.? After the movie, she adds, the group will gather to discuss and share what they have gotten out of the experience.

3 Economical and Attainable Home Improvement Projects

It seems half the battle with getting home improvement projects off the ground involves just a few things. First of all, such a high number of individuals have very active lifestyles and only daydream about the things they wish to do. Then there is the question of finances and perhaps expertise. Many of us need to deem what we able to do, what were agreeable to learning and trying out and then whether or not we should call a contractor. These are all thoughts that individuals ruminate over, as they are quite ordinary and sensible. Although, we support you in becoming proficient with as much as you can. Also, you are capable of a lot more than you realize with home improvements.

There is such an array of techniques for making the conditions of your home better, for example with personal safety. Every year, there are thousands of deaths and injuries that occur because people slip on stairs. Consider putting non-slip adhesive strips on steps that lead to your basement, if you have one. We have all taken a glance at these from time to time and they work really well and allow for secure footing.

Make sure that you add at least one or more strips to even step. In order to ensure the highest amount of safety, we suggest that you add at least three narrow strips to every step. If you have kids in your home, then this becomes even more imperative for inhibiting awful falls.

People who have garages realize how irritating it can be to keep them arranged. Evidently, there is no plus side to the fact that garages at some time or another become the catch-all storing place. Consequently, if you desire to do something for tidiness, find and set up hangers inside your garage. Including those that can be hung on walls, there are quite a few different devices and designs. A majority of individuals use these for hanging garden gizmos and other tools that don?t weigh a whole lot. If you have a lot of hand tools, even as few as half a dozen, then this will free up space.

If you have single pane windows, or a sliding glass door that is old, you should replace it with something more energy-efficient to lower your heating and cooling bills. Some of the best windows for making your home more efficient are Anderson windows. Up-to-date engineering has been built into these energy-efficient windows that can help you save money. This company also does special orders catering to those with specific needs in mind. It is always recommended to get dual pane sliding glass doors as they will be the most energy-efficient. The dual panes actually have special gases that promote energy efficiency through beneficial thermal interactions.

In the world today, there is no such thing as doing too much home-improvement, especially in regard to security. Investing a lot of cash into a security system is not necessary which is very good to know. All you need to do is determine what you need for your home and install it as soon as possible. You could also go onto the Internet and do research before making your purchase.

Alleged US shooter in Afghan massacre identified

The US soldier who allegedly shot and killed 16 civilians in Afghanistan was identified, and a picture emerged of a decorated veteran who saw tough battles and plenty of death in Iraq.

US Army Staff Sergeant Robert Bales had served three combat tours in Iraq, and was on his first deployment to Afghanistan.

US media identified Bales, 38, as the alleged shooter, and a US official speaking on condition of anonymity told AFP the reports were "correct."

Bales allegedly left his base in the southern province of Kandahar before sunrise Sunday, entered an Afghan village and opened fire, killing men, women and children. The incident has plunged US-Afghan relations into the deepest crisis since the 2001 US-led invasion.

The US military has not officially released the soldier's name, nor charged him with a crime yet.

On Friday Bales was en route from Kuwait to the US military prison at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, his civilian lawyer John Henry Browne told US media.

Several websites containing pictures and stories about Bales, including a 2009 Department of Defense page, were taken down by the time his identity was revealed Friday, but some versions of the webpages could still be accessed.

According to a cached online article, dated February 2009, from the official US army homepage, Bales participated in one of the bloodiest clashes of the Iraq war -- a January 2007 battle against a messianic Shiite sect in southern Iraq known as the Soldiers of Heaven.

In the 15-hour engagement, according to the US army article, 250 fighters were killed, all enemy -- and Bales said he was proud his unit "discriminated between the bad guys and the noncombatants and then afterward we ended up helping the people that three or four hours before were trying to kill us.

"I think that's the real difference between being an American as opposed to being a bad guy, someone who puts his family in harm's way like that," Bales said.

Separately, in a photograph appearing on cached webpage of the High Desert Warrior, an online military publication, dated March 4, Bales appears in camouflage fatigues and wearing body armor during a training exercise at an army training center in California's Mojave desert.

Outraged locals wanted Bales to stand trial in Afghanistan, but the US military quickly flew him out.

Bale's attorney Browne said that his client had been angered by a serious injury that a comrade sustained the day before the massacre, but held no animosity toward Muslims.

Bales, the father of young children, was also upset because after his extensive Iraq duty he did not believe he would be deployed to Afghanistan, according to US news reports.

The suspect appears to have been drinking the night of a shooting, a violation of US combat rules.

"Investigators have reason to believe that alcohol may have been a factor in this tragic incident," a US official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Bales may have "just snapped" due to a combination of stress, alcohol and domestic issues, another unnamed official told the New York Times on Thursday.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Friday again lashed out at Washington over the massacre, one day after he said international forces should leave villages in his country, potentially jeopardizing NATO operations two years before combat troops are due to leave Afghanistan.

US President Barack Obama agreed to resolve Karzai's concerns over night raids in a phone call Friday, and the two agreed to discuss complaints about NATO troops in villages.

Discovering Surgical Technology and Other Health Careers

Health careers are absolutely worth a little time and attention if you feel the need to change directions in life or if you are out of a job like so many people are these days. This is an industry that is always hiring because people always need jobs. One of the reasons the health care industry has grown so much is that the Baby Boom generation has aged and needs more medical care than they used to. When it comes to health careers, as you will see from this article, there are lots of different fields to choose from.

Even in areas where unemployment is high, you?ll often find many job openings for home health care aides. This is where you will care for people in their own homes when they are elderly, very ill or disabled. You may find yourself helping them with the tasks associated with daily life: taking the right medicines at the right times, eating, getting into and out of bed, etc. Home health care aides also do a variety of chores like shopping for their patients, taking them to doctor appointments and fixing meals. You can do this independently or contract through a home health agency. The educational requirements of this job are different depending on where you live. There are some states that require home health aides to be Certified Nursing Assistants.

If you like to teach and want a health related job, you might think about becoming a health educator.

A career in the health industry is not for everyone, so you should make sure that your personality fits, plus you like what they do. Health related jobs are of many different types, and the ones that don?t fit your interests and talents, you shouldn?t even pursue. You might really want to be a medical secretary, or even do medical billing, but you should look for something else, if you have a hard time sitting for long periods. I hope that you don?t spend years being a nurse, and later find out that you don?t want to be around blood. You should be able to find the right career choice, because the medical field has plenty of diversity. There are options for working in many different areas, such as with children, people with disabilities, or older people. There are even jobs just dealing with information, and that might be your preference.

If you are unemployed or aren?t happy with your current career, there are a ton of opportunities just waiting for you in the health related industry. If you think you are too old for a new career or that you can?t afford to go back to school, think again; don?t just assume that you can?t do it. There are some jobs in the health industry that don?t require lots of training and you might be able to get a loan or a grant for your schooling.

Many Liberal Lawmakers Support Legalized Online Gaming ? Blog ...

?Don?t forget to talk about vacation time, which is an essential component of any legalized online gaming industry interview,? says Galluzzo Vandale, HR director of Valliant Fenwick Brothers Firm, ?If you want to make a big paycheck realize that you?ll have a more stressful life. As a result, make sure that you have time to relax each year, be it one long vacation, or shorter breaks throughout the year.? Health Insurance in the legalized online gaming sector has always been a difficult benefit to delegate to employees, mostly because of the commission based packages that people choose. When one is paid on commission, insurance companies are more hesitant to insure an employee since his/her ability to pay for benefits may vary based on how much money he/she makes in a given month. Then, after about 5-6 years of successful performance in the legalized online gaming business, one can expect a major promotion to the management level. ?I worked for just over five years in marketing,? reports Donati Dressen, ?and then was promoted to Senior Sales associate. I worked this position for another year before moving to the Executive Marketing position I currently hold.? On average, most entry level positions in the legalized online gaming market are competitive, with only about 5-10% of all applicants accepted. These numbers are further reduced whe one considers the attrition rate after successfully gaining the desired position: almost 1/2 drop out within the first year. Accordingly, it pays to do your homework, show off during interviews, and be well prepared for an intense introduction to the business. Also, dressing to impress is key. In most legalized online gaming business settings, formal attire is required. So, don?t show up to your interview in casual slacks and a short sleave shirt. Intsead, wear a modest business suit and tie, that are neat and pressed. This sends an immediate signal to your prosective legalized online gaming HR director that you care about what you?re doing and want to make the best impression possible. Other HR diretors, like Ignacia Gruenes of the Puskas Josue and Shenika Tagupa Firm, suggest intensive interview practice sessions, where a friend or legalized online gaming industry mentor poses standard interview questions. ?Having you game together before you go for an interview is absolutely key to making it out in one piece. If your top choice is Company A, do some practice interviews at Companies B and C before attempting your top job choice,? replies Audie Remmele, HR and Hiring director. Sabrina Plessinger, author if the best selling essay ?How to make a buck in the legalized online gaming market? suggests asking for as much monetary compensation as possible during the interview stage. ?Look, if they can get you for less, they will offer you less. The object of any negotiation is to settle on terms that are parties agree upon, and when it comes to remuneration, don?t sell yourself short!? Key to any career is establishing your needs as an employee. Therefore, when taking an interview in the legalized online gaming sector, go in prepared to talk about compensation, fringe benefits, paid leave, and vacaction policies. Some companies offer more restictive yet generous compensation packages, while others are more informal but don?t pay as well. Also, when taking your first legalized online gaming company interview, remember to give an honest representation of yourself, including your strengths and weaknesses. ?No one, not even the top guy, is perfect,? quips Dezan Feinen, ?so as a result, when we interview people, we try to find out how their strengths and weaknesses can compliment our current team.?
